It is an exciting time to be involved with local government, Tallmadge Charter Township has experienced steady population growth in the last decade with the 2020 U.S. Census showing 8,800 residents. With that population growth we have also seen the growth of commercial/industrial expansion along our Lake Michigan Dr and Ironwood Dr corridors.
The township’s general fund balance remains healthy and able to fund approved projects without borrowing money or selling bonds to pay for projects or needs. Our bond rating remains at AA+ putting the township in a very good financial position. Should we see the need in the future to fund projects through bonds we would be in a very position to do so. The use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) has allowed the township to make plans for renovations to our township park and office building.
We have a dedicated staff at the township to serve you. I encourage your involvement with your local government. Please consider attending a township board or commission meeting as your time allows, and if you are interested in serving on one of the appointed boards please let me know.
